BIO

Davina Hsu is a New York-based transdisciplinary artist from Taipei. She works across fiber, painting, and socially engaged practice to examine vibrational energy, mysticism, and social wellness. Drawing inspiration from her spiritual awakening and heightened sensitivity to physical and environmental energies, she merges social practice with her somatic sensibility together with occult practice to open the dialogue around the inner landscapes and invite participants to explore the human psyche from color, emotion, and frequency. In her fiber work, she utilizes felting to explore the interplay between material and spiritual connection and translate her energetic perceptions of vibrational ascent and spiritual realization into symbolic and tangible expressions. Her multi-disciplined approach aims to cultivate self-awareness while fostering social intimacy.

Davina has exhibited her work internationally and nationally including solo and group exhibitions in the US and Taiwan. Her work has been included in Untitled Art Fair, Miami Beach, FL, The Other Art Fair, Brooklyn, NY, Anderson Art Fair & Autumn Auction, Taiwan, SVA Flatiron Gallery, New York, NY, Sheila Johnson Design Center, New York, NY, Soka Art Center, Taiwan. Her exhibitions have been reviewed in Marie Claire, Taiwan, Harper’s Bazaar, Taiwan, CANS Asian Contemporary Art, Taiwan, ART INVESTMENT, Taiwan, Art Collection + Design, Taiwan, and ARTITUDE Magazine, Taiwan. Davina holds a BFA from the Parsons School of Design and earned an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, where she was honored with the Edward Zutrau Memorial Award.
